Enter your numbers
How to use this calculator
Enter how many orders you place each week, the food cost, and the fees, tips and markup per order. The total includes food and extras; the fees, tips and markup figure is part of that total. Do not count the same markup twice.
Enter 0 if a cost does not apply. Optional fields may stay blank.
Meal cost and delivery extras are converted to monthly amounts using 52 weeks ÷ 12 months. Extras combine the fees, tips and estimated markup entered above. Set meal price to zero to view extras only.
What your results mean
Estimates are educational and may not reflect every real-world cost, tax, fee or change in price.
Separate the food from the delivery premium
A delivery total combines the food and the convenience of having it brought to you. This calculator separates meal spending from the extras you enter. That helps answer two different questions: “What do my orders cost?” and “How much of that is delivery extras?”
Choose inputs that match your situation
Define your meal baseline
Use the comparable food price before delivery-specific markup if you place markup in the extras field. If you instead use the app’s marked-up meal price, do not add that markup again as an extra. Keep tax treatment consistent between the amounts.
Build the extras from the receipt
Include delivery fees, service fees, tips and any estimated price difference you want to measure. Discounts can reduce the net amount. A delivery membership is a separate recurring charge; it is not automatically included here.
Count orders, not people
An order for two people is still one order. Use the meal amount and extras for that entire order. Average several representative receipts if order size varies. Fractional weekly frequencies are supported.
How the results are calculated
Orders per year = orders per week × 52. Total yearly spending = annual orders × (meal price + extras). Monthly equivalent = yearly total ÷ 12. Yearly extras = annual orders × extra cost. The donut divides the monthly total into food and extras.
Worked examples you can try
Two orders weekly
At $25 for food and $12 in extras, each order is $37. The starting estimate is $320.67 monthly and $3,848 yearly. Of that yearly total, $1,248 is extras and $2,600 is food.
One fewer order each week
Changing frequency to one makes the yearly total $1,924, including $624 in extras. The $1,924 reduction in delivery spending is not necessarily the reduction in your food budget—you still need an alternative meal.
Compare a replacement meal
If the replaced order becomes a $20 pickup meal each week, replacement spending is $1,040 yearly. Compared with the original $37 order, the net annual difference is $884 before any pickup travel cost.
Read the result with its assumptions
The tool does not estimate restaurant markup independently or know which fees a membership waives. It uses your combined extras input. It also does not calculate groceries, replacement meals, pickup time or travel.
The extras slice identifies spending beyond your chosen food baseline. It does not prove all of that money can be saved, because alternatives may carry their own costs. Use comparable meals and quantities when comparing scenarios.
Questions about this calculator
Can I measure only delivery extras?
Set meal price to zero. The total then represents the entered extras only.
Where do I put a membership fee?
Track it separately in the main calculator or subscription calculator; this tool has no membership field.
Is a family order one order?
Yes. Enter the full order’s meal cost and extras, then count the number of orders.
Will my entries be saved?
This version does not create a saved scenario. Reloading or Reset clears your entries. The graph returns to a clearly labelled illustrative example. Calculations run on the page; advertising services are described in the Privacy Policy.
Compare your delivery habits
Pro is planned to save delivery scenarios and compare how changes in order frequency, fees and markups affect longer-term costs.
