Build a renewal register, not just a total
A monthly total answers how much the services cost. A renewal register answers which charge is next and what you need to check before it repeats. Start with the service name, actual billing amount, billing period and next renewal date from your own records. Add a note on who uses a shared service so that a cancellation decision is not based only on your own usage.
| Service / renewal note | Bill | Monthly equivalent |
|---|---|---|
| Streaming / monthly renewal | $12 monthly | $12 |
| Music / shared service | $18 monthly | $18 |
| Apps / check overlapping features | $15 monthly | $15 |
| Membership / annual renewal | $120 yearly | $10 |
The $55 monthly equivalent becomes $660 per year. The annual membership is still a $120 bill when it renews, even though its average is $10 per month. Keep the renewal date in your calendar; the calculator does not schedule it.
Compare the services you would actually stop
- Open List different subscriptions in the calculator and replace its examples with your own services.
- Choose Monthly, Quarterly or Yearly for each bill. Include taxes in the recorded price.
- Look for two services you use for the same purpose. Compare features and actual use before deciding one is unnecessary.
- Uncheck Include beside a service to compare its future recurring cost without deleting the row.
- Record the action separately: keep, downgrade, investigate or stop future renewal. Verify the provider’s own cancellation instructions.
In the example, unchecking Music changes the monthly average to $37 and the yearly projection to $444. The $216 difference assumes those future charges stop. It does not mean a previously paid bill will be refunded.
Separate cancellation savings from cash already spent
If the annual membership has already renewed, excluding it does not put $120 back in your account. Its next avoidable renewal may be months away. Similarly, replacing the $18 music service with a $10 service leaves an $8 monthly difference, not $18.
Check renewal confirmations after you act and compare later statements with your register. A free trial needs a reminder for its paid start; its $0 trial price is not a useful long-term price. The tool does not connect to providers, cancel accounts, track dates or save the list after reloading.
